D365 F&O Technical Consultant

About the role

We are hiring a technical consultant to build and maintain extensions on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. You will work on environments where changes have to go through supported extension points and a controlled release process, and you will own technical work from design through to production deployment.

This is a hands-on build role. If your experience is configuration and administration rather than code, the functional role is the better fit.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain X++ extensions using Chain of Command and event handlers rather than overlayering
• Design and implement integrations between F&O and external systems using OData, custom services, dual-write or batch exchange
• Prepare and run data migration with the Data Management Framework, including staging, validation and error resolution
• Manage environments and releases through Lifecycle Services and Azure DevOps
• Review code written by others and keep the extension model supportable through future updates
• Write technical design documents a client's own team can maintain after handover
• Diagnose and resolve performance problems in batch jobs, queries and integrations

Qualifications

• Hands-on X++ development on Dynamics 365 F&O
• Experience extending a system another partner had already modified
• Working knowledge of Lifecycle Services, Azure DevOps and the F&O deployment pipeline
• Comfortable with SQL, Azure components and the data entities behind the modules in scope
• At least one full implementation through to go-live, or equivalent production support experience
• Clear written English: half of this job is the design document the client keeps
